Marathon Information

Sunday 2nd September 2018

Start Times
The day itself consists of a Half Marathon, Banks’s 10K, Cousins 20K and 10K Cycle Event Childrens Mini Marathon, sponsored by Paycare and a Callprint Walk in the Park

Please ‘queue’ behind the appropriate start board for the event you are entering.

  • 9.30 am 20k Cyclists
  • 9.30 am 20k Wheelchairs in position behind 20K cyclists
  • 9.40 am 10K Cyclists
  • 9.40 am 10K Wheelchairs
  • 9.50 am Half Marathon
  • 10.00 am Children’s Mini Marathon
  • 10.15 am Banks’s 10K
  • 11.00 am Callprint Walk in The Park

The Children’s Mini Marathon will use the main start line and the main finish line. The timings are such that NO runners will catch up with anyone from this race. Please note that times for the Childrens event and the Walk in the Park will not be recorded.

The Walk in the Park will start in the park adjacent to the Hospitality marquee.

Refunds & Change of Event
We do not give refunds in any of the events and we do not charge a fee to change event.

Should a competitor after entering find they are unable to take part , they may offer their number to another PROVIDING they inform the Marathon Office via the info website.

Failure to do this could result in the second person being disqualified.

Important Note To Competitors

IAAF Competition Rules DO NOT permit the use of any form of audio headset or mobile telephone within the competition area (this includes ROAD and CROSS COUNTRY RACES).

Promoters may restrict use and disqualify any runner found to be contravening the instruction.



There are a number of car parks in and around Wolverhampton City Centre.

Fold Street WV1 4LP open from 06.00 am

Mander Centre, Bell Street, WV1 3NH open from 7.30 am

Broad Street, WV1 1JD open from 05.00 am

Market Car Park, Peel Street, WV3 0SW open from 06.00am

Charges will be applicable.

Race Numbers
Runners must wear race number on the front of their vest / t-shirt and must ensure the race number is not obscured in any way, i.e coat, etc. Failure to wear number appropriately may result in times not being recorded correctly. CYCLISTS ONLY are to attach their number to the handlebar of their cycle with cable ties.

Chip Timing
We are continuing to offer chip timing for all events this year. A timing chip will be attached to your number.


Keep to the left hand side of the road unless otherwise directed by a marshal. Each mile will be clearly marked and refreshment stations will be available at regular intervals where water will be provided.

Water Stations
There will be water stations at various locations on the course. These are clearly marked on the map. Please be advised that water only is provided and if you require any energy drinks along the route, you must bring them with you.

Baggage Vehicle
A baggage vehicle facility is provided in West Park. Items will be kept securely, free of charge on the Carver Curtain Sided vehicle, which will be clearly displayed in the Park.

Toilet facilities will be provided at various location on the course. There are plenty of portable toilet facilities available in West Park for use before and after the events.

For the Family
While you are running, your family and friends can enjoy the activities in the park. There will be various stalls, catering outlets and entertainment. Why not try the Walk in the Park at 11.00am, suitable for the whole family.

All finishers will receive a medal or momento for their respective event and a technical t-shirt.

After the Race
Prize presentations will take place as soon as possible after each race.

First Aid
A medical tent will be provided at the Finish in West Park and will be staffed by members of St. John Ambulance. Members of St. John Ambulance and Raynet Communications Team will also be on duty at various points around the course. NJB Sport & Physio will be offering physiotherapy and massage on race day.

Childrens Mini Marathon
A short fun run for children and accompanying adults.

Late Entry
The Information Marquee will be situated in West Park, Wolverhampton on Saturday 1st September between 9.30am and 5.00pm. Please note there will be no late entries on race day for any event.

An enthusiastic crowd makes all the difference to participants, so please give your support along the course, however you are reminded to respect local residents and dispose of your litter responsibly.

Results will be available to view here on our website after they have been verified. Please note this will not be immediately following the event.
