Marathon Information

Date
Sunday 3rd September 2017

Start Times
COUSINS 20K CYCLE / WHEELCHAIRS EVENT: 9.00am
FULL / HALF MARATHON : 9.15am
CHILDRENS MINI MARATHON : 9.25am
BANKS’S 10K RUN: 9.40am
CALLPRINT WALK IN THE PARK: 10.15am

The Start is located in Connaught Road. Please report to the appropriate event start section (these will be identified by signage boards). Please ‘queue’ behind the appropriate board and wait for your signal to start. You need to be in place at least 15 minutes before your designated start time.

Health & Safety
No attempt should be made to move vehicles from the park between 8.30am and 4.00pm.

Important Note To Competitors

IAAF Competition Rules DO NOT permit the use of any form of audio headset or mobile telephone within the competition area (this includes ROAD and CROSS COUNTRY RACES).

Promoters may restrict use and disqualify any runner found to be contravening the instruction.

 

Parking

Race Numbers
Runners must wear race number on the front of their vest / t-shirt and must ensure the race number is not obscured in any way, i.e coat, etc. Failure to wear number appropriately may result in times not being recorded correctly. CYCLISTS ONLY are to attach their number to the handlebar of their cycle with cable ties.

Chip Timing
We are continuing to offer chip timing for all events this year. A timing chip will be attached to your number.

FAILURE TO WEAR YOUR NUMBER WILL RESULT IN NO TIME BEING RECORDED FOR YOU.

Course
Keep to the left hand side of the road unless otherwise directed by a marshal. Each mile will be clearly marked and refreshment stations will be available at regular intervals where water will be provided.

Water Stations
There will be water stations at various locations on the course. These are clearly marked on the map. Please be advised that water only is provided and if you require any energy drinks along the route, you must bring them with you.

Baggage Vehicle
A baggage vehicle facility is provided in West Park. Items will be kept securely, free of charge on the Carver Curtain Sided vehicle, which will be clearly displayed in the Park.

Toilets
Toilet facilities will be provided at various location on the course. There are plenty of portable toilet facilities available in West Park for use before and after the events.

For the Family
While you are running, your family and friends can enjoy the activities in the park. There will be various stalls, catering outlets and entertainment. Why not try the Walk in the Park at 10.15am, suitable for the whole family.

Finishers
All finishers will receive a medal or momento for their respective event and a technical t-shirt.

After the Race
Prize presentations will take place as soon as possible after each race.

First Aid
A medical tent will be provided at the Finish in West Park and will be staffed by a doctor and members of St. John Ambulance. Members of St. John Ambulance and Raynet Communications Team will also be on duty at various points around the course. NJB Sport & Physio will be offering physiotherapy and massage on race day.

Childrens Mini Marathon
A short fun run for children and accompanying adults.

Late Entry
The Information Marquee will be situated in West Park, Wolverhampton on Saturday 2nd September between 10.00am and 5.00pm. Please note there will be no late entries on race day for any event.

Spectators
An enthusiastic crowd makes all the difference to participants, so please give your support along the course, however you are reminded to respect local residents and dispose of your litter responsibly.

Results
Results will be available to view here on our website after they have been verified. Please note this will not be immediately following the event.
